It provides some additional means of communication. The origins of this work are that the Faculty Senate asked in 1999 that a Mediation Policy be developed. Five concerns were expressed by the Personnel Council. The Personnel Council believed that none of theses concerns should prevent policy approval. Senator Cuzzo responded to each of the concerns. For additional discussion points see the April 5 Executive Committee minutes. Motion (M. Einerson/G. Toivola) to approve the Proposed Policy on Conflict Resolution and UW-Sup 6.01 Complaints and UW-Sup 6.02 Grievances was approved with one no vote. It was suggested by Senator Toivola that people who agree to serve as mediators be considered to have fulfilled some of their committee assignment responsibilities. |
