FACULTY SENATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
NOVEMBER 2, 1999

PRESENT: David Beran, Hal Bertilson, Bob Carmack, Tim Cummings, Ronald Mershart, and Michael Wallschlaeger.
ABSENT. None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion (Cummings/Beran) to approve the October 27, 1999 Faculty Senate Executive Committee minutes was approved (5 to 0).
REPORTS: The Academic Affairs Council will consider the Writing Across the Curriculum proposal next Tuesday.
SETTING AGENDA FOR NOVEMBER SENATE MEETING: A PBRC memo will be on the agenda. It gives five recommendations to the Senate (11-2-99). These five recommendations will be listed on the agenda. The Senate charter question will be on the agenda. The question of integrating the Graduate Council into the Senate was tabled until a new Director of Graduate Studies is hired.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: The Executive Committee discussed a request from Chancellor Erlenbach regarding EM21. The Executive Committee recommends that UWSA use Graduation + successful transfer (any paperwork received by the Registrar showing the students have moved to another campus) as a measure of success and accountability. The Executive Committee recommends that web-based courses be included in EM21. The Executive Committee asked how the term nontraditiional students is used? For what decisions and reports is the term used?
