UW-Superior International Education

Strategic Plan

November 2005

The International Education Mission of the University of Wisconsin-Superior is to promote global awareness and opportunities on the campus, in the region and abroad through activities such as support for student and faculty international scholarship, cross cultural experiences, and a curriculum that reflects the significance of a world community.  We believe that:

v        The promotion of global awareness, knowledge and proficiency is an intrinsic focus of a public liberal arts institution.

v        Global awareness, knowledge and proficiency are essential for all UW-Superior students to participate effectively in the 21st century.

v        International education is an orientation and approach across the curriculum as well as a separate subject.

v        International education at UW-Superior should be an integrated, collaborative effort on the part of all levels of the institution, anchored in and enhanced by the community in which it takes place.

The primary goal is to ensure that all UW-Superior students attain a level of global and international knowledge, understanding and experience that enables them to meet the global challenges of the 21st century.
