FACULTY SENATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE September 4, 2001 Erlanson 304, 3 PM

PRESENT: Hal Bertilson, Greg Trudeau, Timothy Cummings, Joel Sipress, Greg Moore, and Stephanie Hilton
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS: The Executive Committee nominated faculty to the following assignments. Greg Trudeau is in the process of contacting those who were nominated to find out if they accept.
	1.	Request from the Office of the Provost for a list of the Terminations Committee members
	2.	Replace John Davis on the Credits Committee
	3.	Replace Deane Minahan on the Parking Appeals Committee
	4.	Replace K. Dokhanci on SUFAC
	5.	Request from Jan Hanson that David Kroll be continued on the Arena Committee to provide continuity from last year to this year.
COUNCIL REPORTS: The September 18 agenda will reserve space for reports (if any) from the Academic Affairs Council, Personnel Council, and Planning Budgeting and Review Council.
ROTATING COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS: The Executive Committee recommends that the FY03 Senate appoint a task force to review what committees should have rotating assignments. Hal Bertilson will place this item on the agenda for the May 2002 Senate meeting as a suggestion for the FY03 Executive Committee. It was decided that this review should not be conducted this year because this is a catalog year and an accreditation self-study year. The need for such appointments has become apparent for such committees as the Arena Committee and Credits Committee. The Executive Committee will accommodate the continuity needs of these committees until the review is completed.
SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR THE VICE CHANCELLOR/PROVOST: A call for nominations and self-nominations has been sent to all faculty both by email and paper mail. The Executive Committee will meet on September 11 to review the nominations. If there are more than five nominations, the Executive Committee will select the faculty to serve on the Search Committee.
