| Dr. Height was interviewed, at the age of 92, on the occasion of the publication of her book, Open Wide the Freedom Gates. Dr. Height was the lone female member of the Civil Rigthts Leadership and served on the national Council of Negro Women and the Status of Women Commission. She was a friend of Eleanor Roosevelt. |
| Dr. Height knew Martin Luther King when he was 15 years old. She knew Malcom X and was there to hear him say that we have been spending all of our time talking about white men and we need to change that. He had been to Mecca and knows that we need to work together. |
