The video illustrates the decision making process behind the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. There are questions about the safety of launching the shuttle at low temperature. The O-ring seals were specified to operate between 40 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Data from the manufacturer suggested that the launch would be much safer if it occurred at a temperature greater than or equal to 53 degrees Fahrenheit. There is much discussion about whether to launch and some debate. Note that in the final frames of the scene, there is no such debate.
