Hello. My name is Yukiko Matsumoto, President of OCC (Oriental Cultural Club).
OCC was used to be called Japan Club, but we changed the name from this semester because we want to provide opportunities to everyone in UWS to learn more about East Asian Culture, such as how similar and how different China, Korea, and Japan are.
I think most of you know, but at the beginning of this month OCC were planning to show “Shall We Dansu?” (Japan, 1997); however, we needed to cancel it because of some issue.
Now after dealing with all the issues we had, we finally will show this meaningful Japanese movie.
This movie contains many aspect of Japanese culture. In addition, since American version of this movie is theater right now, some people can compare the cultural differences between US and Japan to compare American version and Japanese version of “Shall We Dance?”
This movie is highly educational movie under the purpose of cultural awareness and strongly meaningful to all the students who are interested in Japanese culture.
Here is the detail about the Movie Night:
Since we will show this movie under educational purpose, we will not charge any money. This movie night is open to everybody. So it would be great if your families, friends and students will come with you and if we can share Japanese culture through the movie.
If you have any question, please contact with me. Again my name is Yukiko Matsumoto, and my e-mail address is ymatsumo@uwsuper.edu.
