| Video: Sexual Assaults at the Air
Force Academy 0:44:17 - 51:40 3-27-03 |
| The culture of the Air Force Academy creates a hostile and dangerous environment for female cadets. Female cadets were ignored or punished for reporting sexual assaults. Many felt forced to leave the Air Force. Liz, for example, left without a degree or career. When she reported the sexual assaults, she was charged with violation of the rules. But what has been done to the rapists? Of the 18 accused of rape or sexual assault, 16 are still on active duty as officers, one died, and one left the Air Force. The actions by the Air Force appear designed to appease the public rather than correct the problem |
