Extra Credit Opportunity Ronald Takaki: A Five-Year Retrospective
11:45 AM - 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 19 Multicultural Center (Main 232)
Five days after 9/11 Professor Takaki delivered the 2001 Distinguished Lecture. He abandoned his prepared talk on multicultural America and instead cautioned us about the dangers of nationalism, racism, and reaction in view of what just happened.
Dr. Hal Bertilson and Dr. Marshall Johnson (Sociology) have thought a great deal about that night and we would both like to invite eveyone to a lunch hour vieiwing and discussion of Takaki's talk now five years out.
Attend this video and discussion and write a two-page reaction paper. You will receive five points added to you test score total.
