Sociology 330: Race and Ethnic Relations in the US Iowa State University Fall, 2000 Instructor: Gayle Randolph TA: Sine Anahita |
Welcome to the PowerPoint presentations for Sociology 330, Race and Ethnic Relations in the US! Please click on the chapter name below to view the presentation for each chapter.
Once you get to the chapter that you are looking for, there are a couple of things to notice.
First, you will notice that there is a convenient outline of the entire chapter presentation in a frame on the left side of the screen. Click on a line of the outline, and you will jump to that particular page. At the bottom, under the outline, you will see an icon that looks like a tiny postcard. Click on this and the outline expands and shows all the details of the presentation. Click on it again and it contracts back down to only main ideas. On the right hand bottom of the main page, you will see a set of arrow buttons. Use these as another way to maneuver through the PowerPoint presentation. You can click the right arrow to go to the next slide, and you can click on the left button to return to the previous slide.
Probably the easiest and most efficient way to print these PowerPoint presentations is to print the outline.
The following are directions from printing the outline from Internet Explorer.
To print the outline, first, click on the little icon that looks like a postcard (this icon is just under the outline on the left hand side of the screen) to expand the outline so that it will print out all of the words, then, click inside the frame at the left where the outline is located (to select this frame). Next, go to the top left of your browser window. Under File, click Print, then in the Print Range section of the box that comes up, click All; finally, under Print Frames, click Only Selected Frame. Then click on the OK button to print. This will print out the presentation in the shortest number of pages (saves trees!) and still gives you plenty of room to write your own notes. Ask a lab monitor for help, or chat with your TA, Sine.
Remember to use these notes only as an outline and a supplement to your own notes. These online notes are not meant to be a substitute for your regular class attendance or for your own careful reading and studying of the text.
See you in class!
